Email Brand Monitor uses data from internet service providers to help marketers protect their brand equity while preserving trust in the email channel
NEW YORK Sept. 18, 2012 Return Path, the global leader in email intelligence, today announced the availability of a new brand intelligence product that observes an organization’s email streams to ensure proper authentication and to combat phishing attempts disguised as outbound email from the company. Email Brand Monitor preserves customer trust in a company’s email channel by providing email marketers with full visibility into known, unknown and potentially fraudulent email traffic. The product is part of the company’s Email Intelligence Suite for Marketers, an innovative suite of products designed to solve email’s toughest measurement and analytics challenges.
Created to help marketers combat the growing threat of phishing in the email ecosystem, Email Brand Monitor provides email marketers with intelligence into all email streams to not only ensure a consistent outbound email policy but also protect a company’s brand. Through daily and weekly digest reports, Email Brand Monitor keeps marketers informed and enables them to guarantee their companies email standards, even with third-party mailers. The product provides broad-spectrum early warning of any domains that are being hijacked by cyber criminals, empowering email marketers to limit the impact of phishing attacks.
“The equity of a brand is paramount in the email channel, as consumers are bombarded every day with illegitimate emails and phishing scams. It only takes one illegitimate email for a brand to suffer real reputational and monetary damage,” said Matt Blumberg, CEO of Return Path. “Email Brand Monitor uses Return Path’s wide stream of reports from internet service providers (ISPs) to monitor significantly more email than any other anti-phishing product on the market and provide companies with broad visibility into email activity, both legitimate and fraudulent.”
Email authentication data, including Sender Policy Framework (SPF), Domain Keys Identified Mail (DKIM), and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC)-related reports are collected via Return Path ISP partners. This data is reported back to marketers in real-time through an intuitive web-based user interface, which also shows which messages experience authentication problems, which were auto-forwarded, and which were successfully delivered into inboxes.
Email Brand Monitor is part of Return Path’s protection product suite, which gives marketers complete visibility into potential abuse of a brand’s domain.
