DMCNY to Honor Return Path CEO Matt Blumberg, Former Executive Anita Absey with 2018 Silver Apple Award
Marketing leaders’ career achievement and industry service to be celebrated at 34th annual awards gala on November 8, 2018.
NEW YORK, November 6, 2018—Global data solutions provider Return Path is pleased to announce that co-founder and CEO Matt Blumberg has been selected as a 2018 recipient of the prestigious “Silver Apple” by the Direct Marketing Club of New York (DMCNY). This award is designed to recognize distinguished individuals who shape the marketing field through their professional achievements, while also giving back through industry and community service. Long-time Return Path alumna and current Chief Revenue Officer at Voxy, Anita Absey, was also chosen as a 2018 Silver Apple honoree.
For nearly two decades, Matt Blumberg has worked tirelessly to help marketers harness the power of data. His efforts have led to the development of numerous innovative solutions to optimize email programs and drive increased ROI for Return Path customers. Through coaching, mentorship, and various philanthropic activities, Matt has provided inspiration, support, leadership, and guidance to the teams at Return Path, in addition to numerous startups and other communities, including two years as chairman of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA, now part of the Association of National Advertisers/ANA). Among his most significant achievements is the creation of Path Forward, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering people to rejoin the workforce after extended career breaks for caregiving. Matt’s passion for people has been the driving force behind his much deserved success and this well deserved recognition.
Anita Absey is a true industry veteran whose tenure embodies her belief in the power of data to build meaningful and ethical relationships between consumers and businesses. Her leadership across numerous companies and industry organizations clearly demonstrates her commitment to excellence and dedication to helping her fellow marketers drive high impact results. Anita’s efforts have made an indelible mark on Return Path, the DMA/ANA, The Email Experience Council, and the email and direct marketing industries.
The 2018 Silver Apple recipients were chosen by an Awards Selection Committee of past DMCNY presidents and industry leaders. Since 1985, a total of 243 individuals and 22 companies have received DMCNY Silver Apple honors. This year’s Silver Apples Gala will be held at the Edison Ballroom near Times Square in New York City on Thursday, November 8, 2018. The event is DMCNY’s leading fundraiser, with proceeds going toward scholarships for marketing students at local colleges and universities.
